Jorge Wilstermann International Airport lies about five kilometres from the hotel, usually eleven minutes by car. Flights connect Cochabamba with La Paz, Santa Cruz and other Bolivian cities. The hotel shuttle runs twenty four hours a day for around seven dollars per person. Taxis outside the terminal are another option.
Taxis are inexpensive and widely available, and ride apps such as InDrive are popular in Bolivia. Agreeing the fare before starting is common with street taxis. Radio taxis are safer at night. The hotel can call trusted drivers.
Trufis and micros, shared minibuses and buses, cover the city on fixed routes for very low fares. They are crowded and confusing for visitors.
The main bus terminal connects Cochabamba with La Paz in around seven to eight hours and Santa Cruz in around ten hours. Overnight buses with reclining seats are common.
Torotoro is reached by minibus or private car along a partly unpaved road. Organised tours simplify the trip.
Road blockades during protests can interrupt travel between cities. Flying is often more reliable at such times.
Cochabamba lies at around 2,500 metres, a gentle altitude for travellers continuing to La Paz.
